@jscotter aksarben is now called stinson park...started in the 1890's and based on mardi gras...costumes and parade floats they actually went to new orleans to purchase....the kingdom of quivera is now gone..they did incredible things for omaha nebraska and iowa...built fish hatcheries etc as a non-profit......destroyed by kiewit and sons to build the kiewit learning center

@rainbowmusicomaha My dad was in an apartment building literally right across from that bank. I asked him the same question, he was like "No, the VAULT was obliterated, nevermind the money." They took shelter in the basement and luckily avoided severe damage. That said, the tornado had picked up one of the building's AC units and dropped it right on top of his VW Bug.

This tornado ripped apart the apt. complex my dad lived in when he was 3, lucky that he lived... =O

my friends saw on the news back then that the bank at 90th and L had been hit so they jumped on their motorcycles to scoop up the money......there wasn't any there of course.....ak sar ben was a collisium and racetrack from the late 1890's to just a few years ago..they destroyed it to make stinson park and all the kiewit stuff between 63rd and 70th and center to pacific

i am sooooo totally happy i live in nebraska theres like nuthin to do here bt we get fun weather...o nd JonNorCal916 nebraska doesnt have as many tornadoes as you think...
