Baby bunnies born but...

On Thursday March 20th 2008 12:45 am the baby bunnies were born but when we found them which was only just minutes after there was a half dead one being eaten by the mom that we discovered. if you don't like to see people freaking out ahah or like to see half dead baby bunny fetus' being chewed on i suggest you don't watch this..

most of the commentary is me.. yes, i am embarrassed by this lol

Poor babies. Did Miss Bunny have more litters or get spayed? Are the rest of the deformed bunnies still alive?

Daisy did have one more litter of bunnies, but it was another accident. They were completely normal, not a deformity in sight. I currently own one of the deformed rabbits and he's fine. My friend, the owner of the mother, still has a deformed one and I'm sure the rest of them are still alive and kicking.

yeah sadly but i was all deformed and was missing limbs so it wouldn't have been a very good thing for it to struggle like that if it had survived.

it was her first litter though and it's pretty common for deformities to happen in certain parts of the pregnancy if it's the first.

that's what i'm guessing at least.

i'm certainy not an expert.

Oh, that's sad.. the mom must have suspected that baby was dieing..

My bunny had babies, but we only found the babies a few days after the birth, and by then, they were all dead and Hershey (the mom) was eating them. It's insticts.. don't worry. There's nothing wrong with the mother. She does that so it doesn't attract the attention of predators, even if it is an indoor rabbit..

When one of my baby bunnys was killed by the mother i had to pick it up and bury it. (it was half alive asswell)

It's not uncommon for mothers to eat the deformed or dead babies. It has happened to a few of my hamsters. It's nature, sad :'( but natural.

How many babys were there? if theres too many the mom willl eat it knowing it wont live or its because it wont live on its own :\
