In running a social enterprise, sometimes I think to myself: "I'm passionate about helping people. I'm passionate about wanting to bring good into the world."
But when we want to do these sorts of good things and we want to focus on good, sometimes I tend to think to myself "Well if we want to be doing good, then there must be a counterbalance to that. And obviously, the counterbalance -- the opposite -- of good is evil." And I question and I wonder about the forces of good and evil in the world.
Being a social entrepreneur and running a social business, I suppose you yourself have to come to grips with that struggle: the struggle of good and evil.
Now it's a bit of a philosophical sort of query. It's a bit moralistic and thinking more in terms of ethics, but I think it really is important particularly for social entrepreneurs who need to think in those terms.
I look to God for that. I came to a point where I looked at the world and thought 'this is just wrong'. It seemed pointless to 'do good' because there would always be evil. As long as man exists there will be conflict and hatred. But I stay sane knowing that in the end, the fight isn't for nothing and isn't a waste.
Ps I love your videos (just found them) keep it up.
