Thanks for this excellent review! I have a Clear Sport Sierra W801 and have experienced the same issues you described, heat, poor connectivity and slower speeds.

Excellent review. You answered all my product questions about the device and compared it to the Overdrive as well as the other carriers and their similar devices. I am looking to use this device and Sprint's service for my exclusive modem and ISP at home. Your thoughts on using this device and Sprint's 3g/4g plan for exclusive home connectivity use? I just do web browsing, telecommuting, and video streaming with Netflix, Hulu and YouTube. Gaming is just through Facebook.

@paradise670 The device streamed fine with no buffering on most Internet sites (ABC, NBC, etc), but I haven't signed up for a Netflix/Hulu account to test it out. If you're going to do a lot of multimedia streaming, I would highly recommend doing so in a 4G coverage area for two reasons: 1) speed of 4G is much faster than 3G, and 2) 4G offers unlimited streaming on your data plan while 3G has a limit of 5 GB and then overages apply on 3G.
