Great that you are trying/experimenting, but if you're taking the time, why not build something that may be useful to you, and save you some money? Build a decent sized quality panel, build an insulated heat storage tank with a simple coiled heat exchanger. Don't waste your time with plastic totes, and haywired together components, how well can they work, and how long can they last? Why do you have pork chops stuck to the sides of your face?

remember to add your fitting over the tube before you flare it, and that its facing the right way!!.. especially if you just fit a pipe into a tight spot and had many angled bends in it. you do not want to have to redo the whole thing over because you forgot to add the fitting first! ,.... been there, not fun.
