Can I use glass for the walls or reps that screw something up?

1 Think no... I don't know if it works with the building hight of minecraft, but it will not work because of the radius mobs spawn next to the player

Since 1.5.2 this do not work anymore on my server. no golem are spawing. can somebody tell me how to fix it, or why they don't spawn anymore?

Can you just kill the golems with lava and have hoppers deposit the iron in chests?
