Those are not the correct lyrics. Its "under my father's sun," and it's, "don't go to strangers, c'mon home to me. I love you tomoorow, like I love you today. I'm so weak, don't take my heart away." It just amazes me how poeple butcher James Brown lyrics.

@gmandofgod I really encourage you to get a life. Nobody is butchering anybody's lyrics. Obviously Cat Power has great respect and admiration for James Brown and took his song, changed it a bit and made her version. The original is still by James Brown and she is not saying that this is the correct song or that this is how it should be song. Just take it easy in life, enjoy the variety and new things....you'll be much happier in life, trust me.

If you want to see James Brown's lyrics represented correctly then don't listen to covers, just listen to his original songs, because that's as real as it will get. @gmandofgod - People who anally mention 'butchered lyrics' know nothing of covering music. How else can a white woman of soul do a black males' song

with soul? I am sure James Brown would be honored. It isn't karaoke. Chan is stroking the song. Keeping it alive. When you hear Chan and James as artists sharing ,it take the song to another level.
