No Tanks 13

The Mother Brain is irritatingly difficult with only three energy tanks, especially when you don't glitch through the Zebitites. Since she's so easy in a normal game this is kind of a cool way to do it. For once, her Zebetite defences seem formidable and she herself is pretty freakin big and scary. She beat me down pretty good in this fight.

I had a panicky moment during the escape. I realized I didn't have enough energy to shinespark, and it had been so long since I DIDN'T escape by shinesparking, I honestly forgot where to go. I figured if I died during the escape well... that would've been hilarious, actually. And I probably would have uploaded the video and just let the run end that way. :)

While watching the fight I was like 'damn, this person is crazy, what a cool attempt!', but then I read the description as you were making the escape. 19 energy.. can't shinespark.. can't remember what to do without it!! EPIC moment right there!

The hectic explosions, the music, the timer rushing down, having to wing it without your tried and true method, that was fantastic. I bet it was a rush feeling such an shockingly unexpected new challenge when you had gotten the hang of that sequence!

I'm really glad you enjoyed the run! I remember pretty much all of this run being very stressful for me from Ridley onward, especially the escape. MB took me a few tries already and I was thinking, "Great, I beat the MB but now all I have to do is bump a space pirate and I have to do it over."

I'd like to think that if I did this run again it'd go a lot faster and less frustratingly, especially Ridley. I've gotten better at fighting him since making this video for sure. But who knows? :)
