Therefore the struggle for existence. Nobody wants to become a servant. You know very well in European history, Napoleon wanted to become the master of all Europe. Hitler wanted also. Similarly, there were so many leaders, sometimes Roman leaders, sometimes Greek leaders, sometimes French leaders, sometimes German leaders, English leader. The whole European history is full of fighting, war. The basic idea is that everyone wanted to become master. That is the material disease. We are now discussing Bali Maharaja. He also wanted to become master of the whole universe. So that is the material disease. Actually, master is one, Krsna. There cannot be two masters. There is only one master, that is Krsna, or God. But in the material world, because we have forgotten the real master, every one of us is trying to become master. This is material disease. Not only in one life, but life after life. The cats and dogs, they also want to be master. The dog, if he finds another dog coming, he immediately begins barking very loudly, "Why you are coming here?" So this mastership competition is going on life after life, sometimes as human being, sometimes as animal, sometimes as fish, aquatic, sometimes as demigod, bird. Victory over Japan, VJ Day is August 15 Japan , and because of the time difference August 14 1945 in the U.S. On September 2 1945 a formal surrender ceremony was performed in Tokyo , Japan, aboard the battleship USS Missouri. WWII was over. 63 Million people died in WWII: Russia 23,954,000, Gt Britain 449,800 and US. 418,500. NY Lost 31,215, PA 26,554, IL 18,601, CA 17,022, TX 15,765. WWI, the War to end all Wars 35 Million died. Vietnam 1.7 Million Americans died. We never learn.

Not until January 1944 (after 5 years of British fighting in places like Africa, India, Singapore, Malaya, Hong Kong, Burma) were B29s heavy bombers developed to reach Tokyo. In Okinawa 12,000 US troops died. In Luzon, MacArthur had 40,000 casualties. The American Invasion of Tokyo was scheduled for March 1946 but everyone knew it would be another bloodbath. Instead, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were hit with Atomic bombs on August 6th and 9th 1946 and on August 15, 1945 Japan surrendered.

On December 19 1944, 2 of 3 Regiments of the U.S. 106th Infantry Division were over run and surrendered in the early days of the Battle of the Bulge, the largest battlefield surrender of US. troops in WWII, and the US. 6th Army fell back and lost Strasburg to the Germans. It was not until the US First and Ninth and British troops worked together that they pulled through the Battle of the Bulge, the 2nd major turning point of war in Eurooe. Victory in Europe, VE Day, is May 8 1945.

In January 1942 the U.S. arrived in the British Isles but did not go to war for a year, hated by the Brits and Canadians. It was not until D Day, June 6 1944, that finally US. and British troops joined forces to run Operation Overlord, the first major turning point of the war in Europe.

Singapore fell January 31 1942, 42 days after the U.S. entered the war, with British troops exhausted from just having fought in Malaya. A year later, 1943, the U.S. with similar insurmountable odds, like the Brits in Singapore, American garrisons fell to the Japanese and in

Guadal Canal (Buna) and Papua New Guinea, the U.S. suffered resounding losses.

WWII began September 1 1939 with the invasion of Poland by Germany and France and the British Empire jumped in to declare war on Germany while the US remained Isolationist, looking after themselves, until Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese on December 7 1941, over

2 1/4 years later.

The British Empire was established in the early 16 and 17th centuries, the largest Empire in history, 458 Million people. At the end of WWII, 400 years, 4 Centuries later, Britain with other European countries decolonized. The Territories were granted Independence and 54 countries, former territories, voluntarily joined Britain and the Commonwealth of nations.

Also, Operation Market Garden, which was an absolute disaster, was a British thing as well.

The British did horribly in WW2 and the fall of Singapore is a prime example. They had poor leadership and no resolve to fight, which resulted in them constantly retreating and surrendering. See also Dunkirk and the Battle for Caen, where the British couldn't hold up their part of the Normandy invasion. Without the help of the US and USSR, they would have lost.
