This would be great for a science fair because the reaction happens so fast and is so fun to watch. That's one reason I do this experiment at classroom parties or other occasions where kids don't have a lot of time to sit and watch.
I always break the Pixy Stix in half and pour both halves at once, which makes it faster. If the powder doesn't pour right out, roll the paper straw in your fingers a little to loosen the powder. Good luck!
