If coal mining was stopped today, over 50% of Americans would literally freeze in the dark. Additionally, coal mining not only provides jobs for tens of thousands of miners, but the vendors and surrounding communities benefit as well.

The sound track was written and performed by my friend James Powell of Berea, Ky. This video, in no way, is intended to negatively portray coal mining. It simply shows what some people will chance in order for you to be able to flip a light switch on and be able to see, or turn your thermostat up and not freeze to death.

  • @dieselman1988

Your copy has been sent! While I'm here, I'd like to thank all you guys for your positive remarks on my video.

It simply would not exist if it were not for miners. Additionally, I would not be typing you this message if it were not for miners. I would be setting here in the dark!

  • Dept. Of mines and minerals. Not one in every town so you may have to ask around for it. As long as it's the right state you're ok.

  • It's not for everybody, but it's a good way to make a living. You earn every penny of it! There is a brotherhood between coal miners. You spend more time with them than with your family! Check it out, get your training, and give it a shot...
