When do they run the steam trains ? I tried to go on the train ride but no steam only Diesels. They said that they only use the steam to pull the diesels outn for runs?
They White Pass and Yukons #73 seen in this video was the last Narrow Gauge steam engine ever made. Also you can get departure times from there webite
73 is the last steam loco made for the WP&Y (in 1948).
The Chinese built "narrow gauge" steam locos as late as 1988. Many other builders built them into the early 1960's
In 2010 the 73 & 69 were working through from Skagway to the Canadian border at Frasier, BC.
The WP&Y has two steam locos and 20 diesels.....

The White Pass Railroad has 2 steam engines and i believe up to 5 or 6 diesels and the line travels to Whitehorse in Canadas Yukon Territory
