American school children: Slaves or Free?

The 13th amendment (ending slavery and the brutal treatment of the millions of voiceless slaves) and HR 5628 are protective measures for US citizens from abuse and slave-like treatment. In the case of HR 5628, like the 13th amendment, it will protect US citizens, that is American school children, from beatings and other forms of mistreatment (see injuries from US school beatings at: http://www.thehittingstopshere.com/media_photos_index.php).

American educators, superintendents, school bus drivers, teacher aides, cafeteria workers and even school volunteers ARE SANCTIONED TO BEAT AMERICAN SCHOOL CHILDREN with wooden boards on their buttocks in 20 US states and its territories, occurring every 20 seconds (see Huffington Post report, April 2010 in our website Newsroom).

A bill for protecting American school children from "sanctioned" and "lawless" abuse entitled, "Ending Corporal Punishment in Schools Act," HR 5628 was introduced June 29, 2010 by NY Rep. Carolyn McCarthy.

Our Congressional leaders are failing to allow this bill to pass by avoiding becoming signatories of this bill. 24 signatures are needed from the Education Committee Dept. and 1 signatory must be a Republican.

It must reach the House floor between Nov 3 and Thanksgiving during the short number of days that Congress will be in session. By January 2011 the bill will die. School beatings will only escalate and the damage to our American school children will reap its pain in society, locally and globally.

Please call the listed US Reps. on the Education Committee empowered to sign HR 5628, advancing it to the House floor that follows the "sample message":

According to a 2005 survey taken by SurveyUSA of 600 Texans 18 and older, 68% realize it's NOT ok for a teacher to hit a student.

Nationwide nearly 3 out of 4 people oppose teachers beating schoolchildren. Rates like these would be considered a "LANDSLIDE" victory in a presidential election. This is supposed to be a democratic republic in which the rights of the minority are protected. But this is ridiculous. So to the majority: Sometimes to remain silent is to be part of a lie. The School district that my son's Kindergarten class was shown and threatened with a paddle was Searcy County School District. (Leslie Elementary) The second school I talk about is in the Mountain View School District. ( summer 2010 school board minutes claim that "students will be given more OPPORTUNITIES to choose CORPORAL PUNISHMENT" for various offences this year) We are back in Arkansas, first week back at Leslie Elementary. and already nobody wants to go to school tomorrow.

In fact they're enough to amend the US constitution.

So *what* is going ON, *why* wasn't this over and done with a long time ago and just *who* the heck is running this place?
