There is need to address historical wrongs on indigenous peoples

UN Independent Expert on Indigenous peoples James Anaya has called on the United States authorities to adopt new measures 'to advance toward reconciliation with indigenous peoples and address persistent deep-seeded problems related to historical wrongs, failed policies of the past and continuing systematic barriers to the full realization of indigenous peoples' rights."

Anaya will present his report to the UN Human Rights Council on the situation of indigenous peoples in the United States.

this mans words should ring around the world, especially here in Canada. What ever happens to indigenous peoples in the USA, also happening here in Canada. there is no difference. Our own story of 'Frank and telquaa', which is also on youtube, is another great example, and we live in a rich community of Harrison Hot Springs BC, canada. Yet, we live in extreme poverty, and winter is here and we have no furnace, and no kitchen to cook in. Social services denied us, help to fix the problems.
