Another warmachine for my O&G army.

A few air bubbles here are there, most will be covered by snow anyway. I can't imagine trying to build this in metal...

FInecasts may have it's flaws, but no matter what it's still miles ahead of metal mini's. Good riddance metal!!!

  • Why would this have been such a daunting task if it were metal ? at least it would have been all there and not warped...and if on the off chance it WAS warped, you just bend it back, no need for a hair dryer or hot water. I'll take metal over failcast anyday. So many people are sticking up for finecast, yet when they dont find flaws they always sound so surprised, "oh hey there are no holes, yeah finecast is awesome" I just dont understand.

  • @Kanvass1 Metal models come apart, even pinned. The paint also chips off the corners, and no matter how much varnish you use it will happen. It's also hard and messy to clean up mold lines, and much, much harder to do any conversions. I've *always* hated metal models.

Finecast is simply an awesome material to work with, despite it's flaws. Not like every metal model came out perfect either.

  • @Kanvass1 The real problem with finecast is that they simply released it before it was ready. It has vastly improved since first release.

It's kinda like windows vista. Even though I've run it since release day without issues, it was really fixed with service pack one, but by then it was too late.

  • Yaa metal sucks but this finecast model still looks good might go pick one up

  • I would rather have finecast over metal. I am tired of looking through my models then seeing a huge paint chip on a VARNISHED model.

  • I wish they would re-do that baby from scratch...

Only cause I got 2 of the same ones...with no real options.

    Good luck with the snowballs..

It could launch penguins like the doomdiver:)

  • Paint it like its ice instead of a snowball. Easy fix.

  • @Da40kOrks oh definately not, no doubt about that man, but I've also only ever once seen parts of a model missing due to miscasts on metal once.. and thats out of a few thousand metal models over the last 12 or so years. But I see what your saying about converting being easier... still, I've always been a fan of metal. Guess its like dogs and cats I spose.

  • failcast is crap and should be made cheaper as a result

  • Just paint the counter weight like a block of ice, I'm sure it would look really nice with all the highlights.
