I love southport, was there on tuesday, great weather, but this Funfair really lets the side down.. it used to be great you know.Norman wisdom even made a movie in southport and showed the funfair and it was epic back then, now its just pathetic..

@gallimead Problem is, Sefton Council awarded Urban Splash a long term lease to develop the site with an artificial beach and the usual coffee shops etc, but Urban Splash have no cash. The current owners of the lease, Dreamstorm proposed building a £110Million theme park in 2007 but the local council had other ideas and Dreamstorm have to re-apply for the lease every year. Otherwise there would be something more permanent there. Under the current arrangement, it's travelling rides only.
