Rep. Kleefisch voting for several times for absent members of his caucus during an Assembly session on 2-21-12.

This stuff happens ALL THE TIME.

*NOTE* This video was not shot from the gallery, which people are claiming is against the rules. There is no rule against filming in the gallery, the rule is that "decorum" needs to be maintained and this legislatures "interpretation of decorum" means they don't allow cameras. Anyways, even though it isn't actually against the rules to film from the gallery this was not filmed in the gallery, this was filmed through the locked door leading into the gallery.
No alleged rules were broken in the capturing of this video.

Blatant violation of Assembly rules.

Assembly Rule 76.(5)
Only the members present in the assembly chamber may vote.

Well done sneaking that camera in there. I bet they start searching visitors more carefully. Well, no wonder Republicans insist voter impersonation is real.

There was no sneaking anything anywhere. This was filmed from the stairwell outside of the gallery through the door. No "rules" were broken.

Yep, they all do it all the time.

If this were a "I am going to the bathroom, could you cover me" type of thing it would be different. Many of those seats were empty for over an hour and the people who were supposed to be in those seats hadn't been present for any of the debate about what was being voted for.

Electronic voting should be replaced by Yay and Nay doors, where the vote count is the number of members who walk through each door into external rooms, until the chamber is empty. This would have two benefits: to reduce voter fraud, and to help the fat pigs lose weight.

And they have no need to prove they are in the chamber? I saw two of the three people Kleefisch was voting for outside in the hallway talking with lobbyists during the floor session. I don't know about them that evening but people often break that rule. They are trying to pass the burden of proof on us with unnecessary complications to vote, and we just have to take their word that they were around the room, don't worry about it?

Turns out, the chamber is more than the room itself.

The written rules define the chamber as: "The entire area west of the easternmost doors of the Assembly, including the visitor's galleries, lobbies, offices of the speaker, majority leader, and minority leader, and hallways."

The rules also say: "Only the members present in the Assembly chamber may vote."

So what about the practice of voting for your neighbor?

Turns out, it’s done all of the time.

Both parties do this all the time

I'd like to see what they were up to. No doubt they are very busy meeting with the movers and shakers of one interest or another. How about the interest of the people who elected you to be on the job? It would be just as inappropriate for salaried workers to trade off logging each other in a job and not being there.
