This will appeal to all Nations as it has no dialogue. A modern-day silent short about a down-trodden man who is treated with suspicion by the depressed passengers on a 'Scotbus' bus from Invergordon to Inverness, in the Scottish Highlands, Scotland. Things start to change with the help of a (local) North Star newspaper.
World premier at the 2007 Inverness Film Festival.
Shown at the 'Alberts', Evanton 2007.

  • I saw this when I was ushering for the film fest, i didn't mind this not as good as 4min, but why were you dressed in a suit talking to a camera the whole time in the foyer, the director of the short 'Shell' was very quiet and don't recall him giving inteviews to his own camera and a entourage.

  • I didn't see him! Would've been good to chat with him. The video interviews were for practice and diary log. As there weren't that many people there it was good to experiment. Public sort of expect that sort of thing nowadays so I thought nothing of it. Thanks for the observation though.

  • oh my god this has to be THE worst thing i have ever seen. I have wasted 8 minutes of my life watching this and i want them back. pointless, pointless, pointless. i know robert goodwin and he is a bible bashing nutcase and this attempt at a 'film' (lol) confirms what everyone has always thought about him. that he is a freak. he is a discrage to invergordon and should be exiled to alness or tain. wot a nob.

  • I'm really glad you had the courage to be so open with your thoughts, kmaccor, thanks. I've seen lots of shorts that I've deemed pointless so I know how you feel. It's really a matter of taste isn't it? The filmmakers had their urge to make those particular films. They ostensibly made the films for themselves and if people liked the too, great!

    Religion - I'm an atheist.

A lot of history's great people were considered freaks when they were alive so thanks for the compliment.

  • Did'nt particularly enjoy the storyline but hey, it's very well put together indeed. Excellent!

  • Hi Skorrie, thanks for your kind words. We really enjoyed making the film. As with all my recent films we got out and shot it in one day in about 5 hours.

  • Very thought provoking Rob i see the point of it.Very poignant indeed.Kmaccor I too know Rob Goodwin and I knew him during a time he attended church and he was never a bible bashing nutcase. I think the truth is he explored the whole religion thing and discovered it wasn't his thing and as he rightly stated he is now atheist.I don't know anybody who thinks he is a freak, just a nice man,but your entitled to your opinion.

  • Some people don't know what they're talking about, eh? I saw the point in it... I think. Quite powerful. :)
