my hill bows are my prize posesion , all bamboo , howards bows are the coolest , cedar arrows too, non of that graphite crap , i was looking at a pse recurve but then it said made in china , naaa , hog hunting with a hill bow barred cedar arrows , way to go
I idolize Howard Hill I own 9 of his bows made by Craig Ekin of Howard Hill Archery, I look these bows so much that I sold my recurve and reflex deflex longbow because I have no need for them I shot the he'll out of them and bought these bows and just did not want to shoot them anymore, I'm not saying that I don't like those types of bows it's just that longbows are more of my style
Howard Hill was the archery advisor on the original Robin Hood film starring Errol Flynn. It was Howard that split the arrow in that famous scene, in fact they shot it several times and he split the arrow every time. The stuntmen had so much confidence in Howard that they let him shoot them off their horses at full gallop. Of course they were wearing very thick padding!
This is the guy who really made archery hunting possible. He was a sensation his day! Very few people took archery seriously until he came along. Archery was enormously popular in the 50s and 60s, more so than even now.
