Tom Cruise Announces Engagement

During a visit to Paris, France actress Katie Holmes watched as Tom Cruise announced to the press that he had proposed to her the previous night. Afterwards Katie joined Tom to pose for the cameras but avoided answering any questions.

Now why would any working actress who has the opportunity to appear in one of the BIGGEST, GUARANTEED BOX-OFFICE SMASH HIT movies ever made would give that up to star in a lame ass, second-rate movie?? Does that make sense to you? Don't give me the "in pursuit of creative freedom and love of independent movies" excuse. This is "Mad Money" we're talking here, not "Trainspotting". Why did Katie agree to do Mad Money if she knew that it would conflict with her Batman schedule? Duh!

That is what you heard. But actually she was asked to come back but at the time she was also signed up to do Mad Money and the time for shooting the movie was the same time shooting the Batman movie so they had to find a replacement. I think she was good for the part. She was better than her replacement. Maggie something she looked old and drainy like she was batman's mother or something. I was Katie came back for the film but she was scheduled to film another movie.

I heard that the studio didn't want Katie Holmes back. The public TomKat love affair was overshadowing her duty in promoting the film. Also, she wasn't that great in the film (ask any avid Batman movie fan who saw the film and they'll tell you that she gave the weakest performance out of the entire cast). I've seen Dark Knight and it's a zillion times better without her in it (plus, Heath Ledger's iconic role as the Joker made it phenomenal).
