Fifty-four homeless individuals, 30 of which are Veterans, will soon call one of nine new modular transitional units home at The Salvation Armys Bell Shelter, the largest shelter of its kind in the western United States. On Thursday, June 25th just weeks before the nations most patriotic celebration on July 4 The Salvation Army and The Honorable Judge Harry Pregerson paid tribute to homeless Veterans at an unveiling of the pre-fab modular homes at A Veterans Journey Home. This free, public event was able to shine light on Veteran homelessness and aimed to educate the public on this important issue - particularly during todays tough economic times.
