In summer 1986 I went to my first Thai restaurant with my friend Andrew who was born and raise on the main island of Hawaii, Oahu. Since I was vegetarian he took me to a chic Thai restaurant in Waikiki, and this was easily a few years before thai food had become a buzz word here on the mainland.
To me the only way to describe the multi taste palate of Thai cuisine is synaesthesia.....
In this video I also give you a second demonstration of what I consider to be the easiest way to open a young Thai coconut---
Also in this video I furiously throw together this soup with no plan other than having soaked Irish Moss and knowing that I want to end up want end up with something resembling a healthy good tasting thai soup:
the cast of food in this celebration in order of appearance is:
soaked Irish Moss
content of one young Thai coconut
chaga tea
ginger
garlic
schizandra berries
celery
cilantro
dandelion greens
cumin
tumeric
Nori flakes
Dulse Flakes
kelp powder
maca

a ceramic bowl made by Valya Boutenko

yeah, and um,,,,
thats my partners (also the cameraman) corporate crap in the fridge:
the Perrier
and
the Minute Maid Pasterurized yuck

  • Curious use of the word "fasting". When juices are taken I think that's why more people these daze refer to it as juice feasting. While taking water alone was the traditional "recipe" for a fast (see Fasting Can Save Your Life by Herbert Shelton), I do agree that a raw, or a high raw diet, even one not smoothed over with a blender, triggers release of toxins. Isn't it called an eliminating diet? I think so. Anyway, great vid series, entertaining too. Thanks.

  • Oh and by the way, you look pretty darn healthy for 108! LOL

  • I found your video while researching dandelion tea. My son married a gal from the Phillipines and they spent a month there last yr. in her native village. My son got a tummy bug (forgot and drank the local water-big no no) and my daughter in laws uncle cured him by having him drink the water from the young coconuts. Incredible curative and life giving powers in those things! Love your videos!

  • I love to watch people prepare food. You do it just like I do. Thanks for inviting us into your kitchen.
