You have to take your hat off to Felix. It takes a brave man to try to follow in such a famous fathers' footsteps. He could've chosen drums or guitar or whatever, and never been compared to his dad. But he chose bass. If he'd come up even slightly short he would've looked a novelty, but he has obviously inherited Mr Talent Incarnate's natural talent.

It is almost if Jaco reincarnated himself in his son. so similar in style! Kid has got it!

This is not a Patitucci tune...it's Chick Corea' s 'Spain'

John Patitucci should be watching this rendition of one of his tunes.

@NZDaywalker infact...poor guy...but at least..he is a natural-born talent

@hippolyteb actually Jaco's right hand position changes up all the time, depending on desired tone, but you're right, look at the similarity!

@SisterAbdullahX Felix made a great choice to play bass, he got his dad's mojo for it. Julius Pastorius (Felix's twin brother) is the one playing the drums - and does quite well at it too. Jaco played drums before the bass, so maybe Julius got some of that mojo too. :)

@nycfunk Felix is his son. David, another insane bass player is his nephew.

Sorry everyone, you're correct, Felix IS Jaco's son. I get David Pastorius mixed up with Felix. David is Jaco's neph. and Felix is Jaco's son. Thanks for the correction.

Jaco was Felix's Uncle not his father.

@nycfunk According to the Pastorius family site, Felix was one of Jaco's sons, born in 1982.
