  • This man is a gift. Grew up with his music and recently saw him on the Ronnie Spector Doo Wop Show. My sons, in their early 40's, were in awe of his ability to hold the note so long. He gave me a special thrill to hear him sing. In my eyes he still has the charm and handsomeness he had in the 60's. I am a fan for life. He is wonderful. Have never seen a live performance, but, this is as close to Heaven I will ever get just listening to him. Thank you for making my day.

  • @pupsterdumpster Thank you for the fine comment. Iam thinking about buying the DVD series. Glad you like it and he can hold a note.

  • @pupsterdumpster I love watching the violinist and the Base violinist, those chicks are digging it...

  • David is remarkable. His singing skills are as great as ever. The last time I saw him "live" was when he turned 50. He performed at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore. When he was 30 we use to see him at the Chatter Box in Seaside Heights NJ. Pardon his appearance, but his singing is still so amazing.

  • @edwardclemanski Glad you liked it. !!

  • Hi SpookMSgt.

Couldn't agree more with your comments. How he holds that note in Cara Mia for so long, I do not know. It is amazing. He is amazing and I think he does enjoy being able to do that for the benefit of the "new Jay and The Americans". He has a certain classy feeling about him and a feeling like he has done it all. He has. I just love the man and how he puts all of himself into a performance. Those eyes of his and that little smile he gives, melts me. And I'm in my 60's...

  • @pupsterdumpster

Jay actually sounds better than he did on that PBS Doo-wop special years ago. At age 73, he makes younger singers look positively sick.

He's holding those golden notes to a point that is almost scary .... I wonder if it's to show off for the current "Jay and the Americans." I can almost hear him thinking, "OK, kid, THIS is how it's really done ... and I'm old enough to be your grandfather !"

Now there is no question who is the REAL "Jay."

    Game over.

  • Amazin at his age sounds awesome I'm 24 and think that today's singer can't sing with out aid from computers

  • Props to Jay. But he finally got a great group to back him up. Alley Cats are marvelous.

  • Love you Jay! Always Have! Your Music and Vocals are timeless .I close my eyes and I see You as it was in the Beginning...Kisses & God Bless You!

  • Well, the audience is on its feet before he starts, always a good sign

It's Jay doing his best, watch the back up musicians there gettin off on the the song because Jay is strutting his stuff after what, 50 years!

The back up guys know when the featured artist is giving it their all.

  • great concert sounds better now than ever great song including the alley cats

  • Wow! 72 years old and still sounds as amazing as ever. Even the long notes sound as good as they did in the '60's.

  • I think the background to this is very similar to the Phil Spector sound. Chimes, violins, kettle drums and a great backup group. (The Alley Cats were wonderful!) It is indeed very special to make comment about an icon. The DVD series would be great to own. I cannot say adequately how enthralled I am with the man and his music. These musicians are fabulous. What a treat for all of us to enjoy.
