To the hard working people of the last hard town on earth - Butte Montana.

Song Title: Everything's Changed
Vocals: Lonestar
Words & Music: Larry Boone, Paul Nelson & Richie McDonald
Original Album: Lonely Grill (BNA Records - 1999)

Lyrics:

Funny you should show up after all of these years
Yeah, things sure have changed around here
Seen a lot of strangers since they put that interstate through
No this ain't the same town that we once knew

They put up a plant where we used to park
That old drive-in's a new Wal-Mart
The cafe is closed where our names were carved on that corner booth
Yeah, everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

That westbound to Santa Fe don't stop here anymore
You were one of the last to get on board
That street that we grew up on you wouldn't recognize
Girl nothing's been the same since you said good-bye

They put up a plant where we used to park
That old drive-in's a new Wal-Mart
The cafe is closed where our names were carved on that corner booth
Yeah, everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

They put up a plant where we used to park
That ol' drive-in's a new Wal-Mart
The cafe is closed where our names were carved on that corner booth
Everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

Yeah, everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

  • cool scenes

  • @quindoc - Thanks, can't take credit for the images just the production, but with a town that has as much character as Butte, it's almost impossible not to end up with great pics and video. ~S. Spolar

  • This is so great!!!!! I want to say "THANK YOU"!! You guessed it...I am from Butte, Montana..always in my heart. I was there this summer.."what a wonderful place. Memories...sweet...memories!!!!!!!

  • I raised on the Butte work ethic like Butte was raised on the backs of miners. It is a dying town, fading slowly with time. Everyone jokes with me that I come from "Butt, Montana" but I'm proud to say I'm a Butte girl. It has been and always will be a part of me.

  • Thank God the BSB Drive In isn't a Wal-Mart! Proud my hometown has one of the few remaining in the country.

  • this made be cry

  • I love Butte its my hometown

  • Oops. I meant to write, what America used to look like. Makes me want to get into my P/U truck and head that direction.

  • What America used to like like. Sigh.

  • No mistaking this town for anything but Butte. Thank you for the memories that you provided my family, and myself while we called this town home.

  • I love this, it could be my hometown of Klamath Falls, OR..it even looks like it

  • Butte America. Sigh.

  • Grew up there and joined the Army when I was 17. Butte was a great place to grow up as a kid. Hunting, fishing, camping, and cross-country skiing. In 1980 the economy was in the pits(literally)!

I live in Victoria, BC now and wouldn't leave it!
