Cool scene. Covered the leak that got out that Spock was going to die in the movie.

Saavik said, "Damn." That's because she's a half vulcan half romulan. The movies failed to mention this.

If you read the companion novel you would have found out that Spock recommended Saavik for Star Fleet. And Spock commanded a hell of a lot of respect in Star Fleet

You must remember that this is not an actual battle..It is a test designed to be a no win solution. One must understand that a simulation is not a real battle. The point of the simulation is to see how the command figure undergoing the test reacts. Perfectly understandable if you have a military background,
