Here's a quick and dirty motion activated camera that I built this afternoon. A Parallax PIR sensor is hooked up to an Arduino and an old model airplane servo is used to trigger the camera button. A few lines of code glues all the parts together. You could even use this to trigger movie recording, but I'm going to try it out in the backyard first to see if I can catch some animals.
A hunk of 2x4 is used to make a slick mount for the whole contraption.

I too am interested in an update on how it works. What's the distance it detects?

Very cool! Is there any way that you can give an update on how it worked out.
I have extra cams to experiment with, but wasn't sure how to fix up the servo to push the buton.
I'm hoping that I can find an older camera that has a remote, wired preferred, to snap the picture.
Very interested in this, as you can use a number of sensors to trip the cam, Making it better than anything out there on the market when it comes to trail cams.
Thanks for the vid post!!!
