This is nothing more than coming onto tribal land and attacking tribal descendants... we ARE the Hatteras tribe.....and our ancestors have been fishing that island since before the english came there!!!! These outsiders have no ties to that island and have no right coming onto our ancestorial homeland to try to force us off it!!!!!!!!

It's a sad day when our Government no longer promotes our freedoms, and does nothing but consume them. "Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty." -Thomas Jefferson

greedy right wing materialistic money hungry jerk..we should have thrown you out 100 years ago when we had the chance..sell your pocessions..give the money to the poor

Yes because my family lives in Buxton and there has never been any problems involving shorebird nesting and ORVs. Its just these stupid 'PETA' type people who probably never been there and want to ruin a long standing tradition of driving on the beaches of Hatteras.

yes it is so dramatic it has ruined vacations & has made the local economy go into a downward spiral. Many tourists say they shall not return if the closures remain in place. Dramatic indeed!!!

the plovers are not indiginous to the island. The raccoons and minks and foxes the NPS are killing are.
