This is Fox" image campaign, and the slightly longer version of this promo that I have not posted on my channel, is from the fall of 1989, which is confirmed by the fact that several of the 21 Jump Street stars are standing in front of the Fox Monday Night marquee (1:35 and 2:39). Fox only added programming on Monday nights beginning on 18 September 1989.

Correction: The fourth season of MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN had 22 entitled episodes. I said 23 because on the DVD set,the episode YOU GOT TO KNOW WHEN TO FOLD 'EM was featured in two parts although the episode premiered and re-aired on FOX as a whole.

Although the late Sam Kinison was chosen originally to play Al Bundy on Married...With Children,he guest-starred in the episode IT'S A BUNDYFUL LIFE. He played a guardian angel who introduces Al(dead in the dream sequence) to his "widow" Peggy's new husband,Ed Jablonski,played by Happy Days alum Ted McGinley,who himself joined the MWC cast in the 5th season recurringly and regularly thereafter.

Fall 1989 when comedy legend Bill Cosby was still King of the Network airwaves. He tied with Roseanne Barr that season so that made her a queen. Her ABC series ROSEANNE began her second season then. A trivial note:Barr was originally chosen to play Katey Sagal's role of Peggy Bundy on MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN and now-deceased Sam Kinison was chosen originally to play Peggy's husband Al. I couldn't have visualized that.

It's funny that although Garrison left 'Married' to get back to Broadway, he wound up taking on a featured role on the new (and ultimately short-lived) NBC sitcom Working It Out, for that fall.

I'll state for the record that of the 23 1989-90(season 4) entitled episodes of Married...With Children,the sixteenth entitled ROCK AND ROLL GIRL was David Garrison's last as a regular. He was last seen sitting alongside Ed O'Neill on the Bundy sofa watching a fight on TV. Also they saw Kelly Bundy's music video debut. In the next episode,viewers learn of the Steve(Garrison)-Marcy(Amanda Bearse) divorce.

Also after this season,David Garrison was gone from MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN as a regular. Viewers learned in early 1990,that his character Steve Rhoades had divorced his wife of almost 3 years,Marcy and he had gone to Yosemite Park to become a forest ranger. Garrison himself,a Broadway man primarily,wanted to go back to that. So,that meant no more long commutes from New York to California. Garrison reprised his role on a guest star basis on the series 4 times since then.
