Video comparing the two modes of water rendering in Just Cause 2 - with or without GPU acceleration.
GPU acceleration improves the water quality significantly, but also needs a lot of computing power and thus lowers your framerate.

  • What do you mean by going from GPU to Normal?

  • @danielmadstv on nvidia cards you can use the GPU or the CPU to render the water, and the gpu is much more powerful (as you can see)

  • can somebody explain to me why i don't have the gpu water simulation in video options??? Im with Asus eah5850. When i was playing with the 8800gt i had this option. Is this only for nvidia cards?

  • @makaveli316bg yes, only for nvidia. it needs CUDA and ATI doesnt have CUDA (they have Stream which *could* do the same but the creators of JC2 decided not to use it).

  • does this make anyone else fckn thirsty?

  • gpu makes the game lag more -.-

  • The exclusive effects bullshit needs to end. ATI cards can do this too but the devs got moneyhatted into only supporting this effect on nvidia cards.

  • heyy bro you should do more of those graphics reviews :)

  • The GPU water is far too dark, if it was brighter, it would look 10x better than the CPU water.

  • Pretty big difference on the water surface. You need a pretty fast system for it. It looks like your frams rate dropped quite a bit.

  • I'm getting that same CPU and i'm getting the 460, I can't wait.

  • You can play this game on the PlayBox 363, it looks pretty good too.

  • the difference is barely noticable at all.. well done......
