Poi's are used for different things throughout history from dance and entertainment to a weapon with a steel ball on the end used in the chin dynasty in chin 230 something bc.

  • Haha, that is nothing. My plans are to get a couple of small steel diamonds and attach those to chains with a nice grip. = eexxtreemmmlly deadly >:D

  • those are't very advanced moves in poi but they were used quite wisely and quickly through out the demo

  • i was toldthat poi helps with motor skills flexibility focus upper body strength and can also help in combat when using a club or ratan

  • Perfect example: padlocks on chains.

  • I seriously doubt that kiwido poi could hurt anyone, and doubt even more that behind the back weave is a fighting technique. To be honest, i think you just want to learn poi and that doesn't come with speed, but with good technique.

  • damn i never woulda guessed

  • id take you on with a set of poi, unless they are rock in socks they arent gona do shit, and even so all i gotta do is kick you in the right spot, poi are harmless once they wrap...

  • haha i have the beamin poi and i drilled my little bro not meanin to but it knocked him out cold for about 5 mins

  • oh ya lol i know the whole origins of poi but i still think i could fuck some people up w/ my poi lol it would be fun tryin haha

  • Poi aren't weapons, there is very little to no evidence that they were ever used as such. They were used by the maori tribes as a dance and as practice for warfare to strengthen the wrists. Plus they would really suck as weapons, it would be ridiculously hard to land an effective hit while staying relatively easy to dodge.
