Abhithi Scent Exercise (Find Your Breakfast), 5 mths old

The puppies are given scent exercises as an observational tool to see what their natural searching tendencies will be. This can help determine the best disciplines for each puppy, be it trailing, HRD, Area Search, Evidence, or perhaps not a scent discipline at all. It is a luxury to be able to choose the specialty for a dog based on the natural patterns of the dog, a luxury we don't often have.

Abhithi demonstrates a high level of sociability, strong interest in working livestock, and has done well on all her scent exercises. She is strongest in air scent, and is the only puppy to notice scent sources on the porch in this exercise. She indicated as though she scented the meat under the tarp, but did not seek it out. She was somewhat distracted during this exercise, and took the longest of the puppies, as she kept returning to each location multiple times.
