"Baubles, Bangles & Beads" from the 1953 musical, Kismet, was adapted from the second theme of the second movement of the String Quartet in D by Russian composer, Alexander Borodin, by Robert Wright and George Forrest. It was recorded by Joni James in1960 for her MGM album, 100 Strings & Joni On Broadway, recorded at the EMI Abbey Road Studios, London, England. The orchestra was conducted by Tony Acquaviva. The album is available on CD combined with her other album, 100 Strings & Joni In Hollywood, on the Collector's Choice label.
I would be a person who is into Ska, but there is always a place in my CD, Record collection for the lovely Joni James,a most beautifully clear voice with perfect diction
