Military camouflage became an essential part of modern military tactics after the increase in accuracy and rate of fire of weapons during the 19th century. Until the 19th century, armies tended to use bright colors and bold, impressive designs. These were thought to daunt the enemy, foster unit cohesion, allow easier identification of units in the fog of war, and attract recruits. In addition, bright uniforms, such as the red coats formerly used by the British, tended to deter desertion.
Conversely, the intent of camouflage is to disrupt an outline by merging it with the surroundings, making a target harder to spot or hit, or to confuse an observer as to its nature. Different countries have undergone different evolutionary stages towards the development of military camouflage.

  • His hands!?

  • @giutoniolo ACU is only good...from above...looking down on soldiers...in a gravel parking lot....under special conditions. LOL

  • @MrSouthernSurvival To tell you the truth about it, OD green is my favorite color for the bush. Im in Brazil and it´s green throughout the year.It works fine in the bush and like you wisely said, people don think it´s too nutty in the city! But I do like and wear the old school woodland and them tigerstripes too! If you check some of my videos you will see how well they work here! I gotta a buddy in the US army and he´s been here with his acu´s it was like screaming: Im herer guys, day and night!

  • @MrSouthernSurvival Im big fan of the old woodland camo, tiger stripes or even plain od green, although the marpat and multicams rock too!

  • If they had that crappy acu in tropical areas like the Nam, instead of 58,000 dead americans it would have been a way more dead people! Specialist Bennet had so much branches on him that it didnt make a difference if he was in acu, or naked! Plus the quality of the video being poor, helps hidding him! Sorry guys that ACU is a total failure!!

  • Lol love how the color was tweaked to better hide the blues in the acu

  • 0:55 lmao

  • I played it twice lol

  • @giutoniolo Something most people dont know about the ACU pattern is that it is basically a blank canvas in that it takes on the color of the environment your in via dust, dirt, foliage, debris, etc. when the uniform gets dirty is when it blends in, By the way your channel is kick ass

  • well if u stop at 45 seconds u can see him standing their but the give away is the dark shadowy area in the trees so yea he could be smarter and where a ghillie suit
