This video gives scriptural evidence for why theistic evolution the day age theory and the gap theory can't be true. These theories just can't go with the Bible. They are in exact opposition with each other. We should base our theories of the universe on the Bible, not the other way around.

@N00bcrunch3r Um, don't be ignorant. If you want a verse here's one. "The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, "Follow me."" John1:43. I'm not going to prove to you that day here means 24 hour literal day.
As a side note I found that even the Evilbible website (an anti theistic group) has an article debunking the idea that the yom in Genesis could be anything other than a literal 24 hour day. It was just kind of funny to me.

@qwertysonic
What other parts and how do you know it's a literal 24 hours?
N00bcrunch3r 1 year ago
@N00bcrunch3r I'm saying that the probability is statistically less than 1%. Also The rest of the Bible takes a literal interpretation of Genesis 1.

Oh, so you admit that "Yom" can mean a period in time. Then why do you have a problem with a different interpretation?
N00bcrunch3r 1 year ago
@N00bcrunch3r I'm pretty sure I just explained what you tried to say by defining Yom.
"In the Old Testament, "yom" is translated to mean a 24 hour day 1109 times. It means a long period of time--such as an age--about nine times."

Alright, if you'd rather take outdated, pseudoscientific interpretation than a scientifically accepting interpretation, that's fine with me. Or maybe you could consider this:
"Yom: It can denote: 1. the period of light (as contrasted with the period of darkness), 2. the period of twenty-four hours, 3. a general vague "time," 4. a point of time, 5. a year (in the plural; I Sam 27:7; Ex 13:10, etc.)."

@N00bcrunch3r The Hebrew word for day is Yom. In the Old Testament, "yom" is translated to mean a 24 hour day 1109 times. It means a long period of time--such as an age--about nine times.

Ever though that the word "day" may not be literal? The phrase "back in the day sure isn't literal.

@pje85254 You see to have missed the point. This video is intended to people who call themselves Christians who profess to believe the Bible. What purpose of this video is to show that evolution and the Bible do not mix. If you do not claim to believe the Bible, then please do not comment on this video. It is not intended for you.
