@StupidChris19 I was having this problem but only on one side, which told me it was operator error rather than sinus congestion blocking the flow. I discovered that I was inadvertently pressing the tip of the neti pot spout against the inside of my nose, thus blocking it at that point. I adjusted the angle of the spout and it solved the problem.

Use distilled water as you don't want any other water to get into your lungs by any chance. One of my friends told me that few people have died by lung infection due to water getting in there. I would at least use filtered water.

fuck if it was on nigger oprah's show it must be really cool n work right?

I would not use this in my kitchen but my bathroom because I might be a little concerned about contamination of airborn substances. I would use lukewarm purified water versus the stuff out of my faucet. To be safe, I would stick with the saline packets that come with the pot and not add anything else to the solution. Make sure you wash and dry your Neti Pot well after use. I love it and my doctor recommended it. I wish I had one years before and will use it at the first sign of issues.

I've just started using a Neti pot (after trying ANOTHER sinus medication that didn't really help me) but whenever I use it, the saline solution doesn't pour out the other nostril like it does in every video I've seen. It kind of trickles, if it comes out at all. Usually it just doesn't come through. I've tried tilting my head more and all that, but it just doesn't come through. I'm guessing it's probably because it's so congested that it just won't pour through.

It's an informative video, especially the various salt products available, however when it came time for his suggestion to "wash" the neti pot, he uses a sponge!!! Unless that sponge was washed with soap, rinsed clean, then heavily dampened and placed in the microwave on High for 3 minutes, he is just putting bacteria from the sponge right back onto the neti pot that he is trying to clean/sanitize. Yuck to sponges!!!
