Patti LaBelle - You'll Never Walk Alone (Oscar Hammerstein Medley)

A moving medley of Oscar Hammerstein songs from a televised tribute. It starts with a choral reading of a medley of the reprise of "Sixteen Going On Seventeen" (from THE SOUND OF MUSIC) and a line or two of both "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Happy Talk" (from SOUTH PACIFIC) that morphs into the Gay Men's Chorus' beautiful reading of "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" (also from THE SOUND OF MUSIC), which blends into Patti LaBelle's entrance with an astounding version of "You'll Never Walk Alone", one of Hammerstein's greatest pieces of music. It should move you to simultaneous tears and joy (unless you're a robot).

@theoneandonly2503 You may have your preference and that's OK. Patti Labelle has been singing for well over 50 years. Her voice has changed over the years and she does not have the same range and veracity as she once had. Neither does any of the legends or greats like Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, etc. What Patti retain is her heart and passion for singing and putting everything into her performances. Her talent is still relevant and among the top in the class of youngsters today, No doubt!

I saw her in Montreaux when she was 60. She blew everybody away. SHE IS THE BEST. What a voice. What energy. What audience interaction and she is BEAUTIFUL.  My wife and I were in awe.....after a 2 hour concert in the montreaux summer heat.

@jdsthird It's a small minority of anyone that speaks ill of Patti singing this song....considering she was asked to do it in the first place...don't you just hate when people just go off about things in music that they'll never understand???
