  • hi, and yes it was. He was an wonderful actor with a chram no one can match. He had a certain flare that was fun to watch as he grew as an actor. He had been very hard on him after that horrid accident, and fell on very hard times, as it's not easy being in the lime light and have it blown out before he was ready to retire. You have to put yourself in his shoes to truly understand what he went through. Thank you for your understanding, most don't. And glad you enjoyed the clips.

  • @MsTexas73 You're right. And it was probably due to the fact that the Donna Reed Show was modeled after Donna's real-life family. The writers said she was a terrific mother off-screen, and they used her parenting qualities and quirks for the show.

  • @jswoman You got it! That's the right word for James Stacy-Charming! I first saw him in Lancer in the late 60's and fell in love! He is so good-looking, sexy, a damn good actor with a smile that lights him up and anyone watching him. He had it all and he knew how to use it--he could have been the Brad Pitt of the 70's if not for that tragic motorcycle accident. He suffered such a huge loss, his arm and leg, and his acting carreer. Love him still....

  • @RizMil I agree. I always thought the Stones were WAY more hip than any other TV family of the era. And Donna and Alex were quite liberal with their raising of Jeff and Mary...and later Tricia. You saw the parents break it down to their kids and allowing them to make mistakes and encouraging them to own up to the consequences. More realistic than ANY family during that time IMO.

  • @italoman9 Mary was LESS whiny than Marcia IMHO! I like to think of 60's hair the same as 80's: BIG, POOFY and lots of Aqua Net!! =)

  • This character is 10 times more devious than Eddie Haskell. Ever notice how in real life a guy like this never lacks for a date? They line up for it.

  • Kind of reminds me of Eddie Haskell. Except not as devious.

  • wow it's really a shame what happened to the actor who played Mary's boyfriend.James Stacy,I think?correct me if I'm wrong, but a motorcycle accident cost him a leg and an arm(not too sure about that part of it)and then later,he got into drugs and booze and there was some talk about sex with a minor? With the help of Kirk Douglas,he had won a law suit about that accident though, something like a million dollars.I mean, money can't replace your limbs though.Poor guy.

  • Hurrah! Finally the DVD set of Season One is coming out in October 2008. And this company will also release the next 4 seasons (for a total of Five) over the next year or so. And Includes Season 4 (WHICH NEVER AIRED IN SYNDICATION)...Rare find.
