Classic Egyptian cinema star, belly dancer, singer and actress Naema Akef (1929-1966) sings two songs on a 78 rpm record from her first film Al-Eïch wal malh (Bread and Salt). The label is the same on both sides so only one song is identified. Several sources give release dates of 1949 and 1944.
I found this 78 in a flea market in Richmond VA in the mid-90s and I have prized it ever since. Can someone translate the arabic on the record label? Please excuse the audio limitations of this (at least) 60-year-old disc.
Third attempt with Windows Movie Maker, animating screen shots. Actual video would be welcome.
