When displaying high definition material, the BRAVIA KDL-46XBR4 conspicuously showcases all of Sony's video processing prowess. But what endears this HDTV to me is how well it handles mundane standard def material and backs it up with a rather impressive integrated sound system. This solid all terrain performance makes it stand out in the HDTV crowd.

  • how about if I want to see a regular DVD in a blue ray player, can I still get 1080p? or what kind of resolution are going to get?

  • All new Blu-ray players can up res a regular DVD to 1080p. That does not mean that it will look as good as a Blu-ray disc.

  • Can anyone tell me how to change the resolution on a Sony Bravia 46W?

  • TVs have a native resolution. This Bravia's is 1080p. You can feed it content that has a different resolution like 480 and it will play it back at 1080.

As buckathor so subtly stated, you can't change a TV's resolution.

  • 300$ did i hear that right ? 1:04

  • Actually, I said that the bezel is interchangeable. You can buy a different colored one from Sony for $300 each.

  • it was a good tv 2 1/2 years ago, but the newer lcd's for a third of the xbr's price nowadays are just as good if not better. BTW samsung's motion blur tech/120hz works alot better than sony's any day. the sony's are fine with it turned off, but i don't like it when on. also i'm not crazy about the whole 120hz refresh rate craze, but please even if it greatly increases the cost of lcd panels, please try to increase pixel response time/refresh rate to reduce motion blur/increase motion resolution

  • Great monotone voice. ;^]

  • The Rain man of television

  • I'm not a spamer but for cables go to monoprice it's a cool site for like optical cables and hdmi pretty much anythiing u need

  • I went through four Sony TVs and was disappointed with all of them. Horrible clouding issues - which were clearly visable in dark scenes. The 'patches' of white were absolutely horrible, and I even tried the top product at the time (out of pure frustration) and bought at $3000 LCD TV. Returned it the next day and settled for Toshiba. Fantastic TV and I have never had a problem with it.

  • ...Actually, him sounding calm and informative is better than the whole "you gotta have the this t.v. right now" pitch that everyone is so used to. He was just missing the jazz music in the background, lol.

  • samsung better

  • 1:12 DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) Is that for wireless headphones? I can't find a plug in. So is that it?
