On March 1st, 2007 an EF3 tornado cut through my home town of Americus, GA. It destroyed the hospital I was born in, my doctor's office, my dentist's office and even the Taco Bell that backed up traffic on Forsyth Street the first 2 weeks it was open. Yes, that's how we roll in Americus.
While my neighbors were cowering in fear beneath mattresses in their closet, I was peeking out my door wondering what in the hell was going on. In hindsight, my neighbors were probably doing the smarter thing that night. No matter... the tornado passed about 1/4 mile away from where I lived. The following day I didn't have to go to work, got to know my neighbors a LOT better, learned just how long a hot water heater keeps water warm and ate a Red Cross meal.

AME is my home town as well. This was the most horrible day ever. The tornado passed right behind my house with me and my 3 year old inside. I was also 5 mon pregnant with my son. This video kills me to watch. We lost so much that day became much stronger. We may be a small town but no tornado will break our southern small town pride!!
