Haplopelma longipes (probably, sold as a "Vietnamese Tiger Rump") in a rare appearance outside of its burrow. This is the first time I've seen it since purchase almost a year ago.

  • @gakido99 I've had really great results with giving the spider a makeshift burrow along the glass of the case and giving it shallower soil. That way, they choose the premade burrow/tunnel over making one of their own and it is easier to see them.

(it also makes it MUCH easier to check on her during molts without disturbing her.)

My little babe is a Grammostola Pulchripes but the principle still applies.

(She also has a wider tank, so she explores a lot more).

  • i, too, bought a spider labeled as a 'vietnamese tiger rump'. it looks nothindg like yours. i've dubbed it H. minax. its mostly black with a greenish hue, with a bit of yellowish striping on the knees. sadly, no purple

  • This kind of tarantula you should never hold lol

  • It looks like a Haplopelma lividum with the way the light catches the blue colour... NICE T,VERY NICE T!!!

  • what do you feed it and dont you ever hold it?

  • that spider is freakn awesome
