  • What sort of antenna are you tying to that high in a tree?

  • multi band di-pole. It was put up later that day, after my camera had retired.

  • I want to know how to make one of these. KC5ECB Please look my email address up on qrz and get with me. Thanks Bill

  • It is a csv19 pneumatic antenna launcher. Google it.

It came as a kit, took over a week to assemble because epoxy had to dry between steps.

  • Possible to share a plan of this - would make a great device, with some modification, to launch a pull line for network and coax cables in ceilings and in large warehouses - or for launching a monofil to pull a rope for tree cutting.

  • I know what grandma is thinking at 0:59... "because these balls are launched by air pressure"...

  • @myleszg The main purpose is for getting and resending infomation in different area's. Where all of this talk about S.H.T.F. or W.R.O.L. To see what is going on in the world sinces in the state of time where we would have no power to call out for help or watch the news on the TV. Then some just do and use a ham radio for hobby reason. Alot of your preppers have them as well.

  • I don't understand what the purpose of having ham radio know how is, why would we want to do this ?

  • yeah that is BAD ASS!!!

  • nice! i have seen lots of methods but thats the first launch by use of compressed air and a tennis ball filled with 23 pennys for me anyway. i need to get active again this makes me think of some of my younger radio days.

  • @rhblakeman look up sprinkler valve air cannon/gun attach a fishing rod and a tennis ball with a bolt through it and you're done.

  • I surly need one of those. Some great places here in the Dakotas for that!

  • epic, a potato punter, melon mortar, or a good round of doge ball (using safety baseballs)

air pressure, we used combustion pressure. alcohol did the trick. pffffuuuuummmmppppp

  • Cool 'potato' launcher. Good dual team commentary explaining how it works. You are likely a very popular guy in the ham community in the Fall when it's time for low frequency antenna jobs. 73
