Our piranhas can be found in the amazon section of the Oceanarium, which is also where they can be found in the wild. They live in shoals (groups), where they will eat weaker members - you wouldn't want to be part of their social group! Although they are known for being dangerous, there have been no recorded instances of anyone being killed by piranhas.
These friendly fellas are being fed whole trout, a tasty meal devoured speedily in about a minute with their razor sharp teeth!

  • Where can I get a piranha

  • @nightstalker3400 Feeder fish aren't always a good idea, as they can introduce disease and parasites. Your best bet for feeding these are frozen fish such as trout. If you want to give them a treat try earthworms. There was a good article in September edition of Practical Fishkeeping about piranhs, not sure if you can still get hold of it. Hope that helps.

  • I just got 2 red bellied perhanas what fish would you reccomend feeding them as a treat I'm thinking feeders
