  • What I don't understand about the concept of global economic growth is, what is the long-term vision? Is the whole world destined to become a sprawling metropolis, with all animals restricted to parks and zoos? Does EVERYWHERE need to sustain humans, grow crops, with electricity and plumbing, etc? Why do people assume this is how it SHOULD be? Tribes thrived without the need for all these modern trappings, so why is western culture & technology now a model to be demanded everywhere?
