You can tell him to learn proper grammar when you use it yourself. "u" and "ur" are not words.

Actually, Microsoft is dying out because there's more competition than just Apple's Mac OS now. And much of that competition is free/open source.

@netrophyte Comparing a modern OS, Windows 7, to an OLD-school system, Linux, that has an asynchronous GUI isn't fair at all.

Linux can only do 1 thing better than windows, edit kernel source.

DOS has a GUI. You have been misinformed.

comparing a modern linux distributions to an OLD-school operating system with no GUI at all isn't fair at all. of course a modern distro will have a bigger footprint than an archaic OS. but running linunx without the GUI is pretty freekin fast. most people running servers are "headless" meaning they don't even have their own monitors because they are designed to be signed into remotely... most problems people have with linux are with the X graphical server...

Yes for a person who lived through the good old days of the 80s and 90s, DOS and Win 3.1 are the best OS combo ever. The apps that Wins 7 are offering are still more or less the same back then. Paintbrush now is paintbrush then...

Seriously though, Linux lags in terms of polished, professional-looking apps. But it's faster. Stability though from my experience not that good.
