This song along with Ronnie's angelic voice made me tear up.. :'o[
I am but a child of 16,
But wish I could have been old enough to have met Ronnie.
He touch mine, asong with many other lives.
Long live the voice of the man I aspire to be like.
RIP Ronnie Drew,
God only takes the good ones.

Beautiful Ronnie is magic. I am a true Englishman & I read many comments on you tube that are a bit hurtful. I will only shout from the roof tops, I love Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney,John Paddy,Sean & all the others that have been part of this great institution of the Dubliners.I also love John McCormack. Paul Brady,Van Morrison. Mary Duff Mary Black I would love to visit Ireland but would I be welcome ? The country looks lovely on film & I will visit one day.

there's really no point in comparing the two as they had very individual ways of telling a story singing a song. I hesitated a long time before finally going to the Dubliners first post Luke concert in Düsseldorf in 1984 and was moved to tears at Ronnie's tribute to Luke as he sang The Town I Loved So well. I always thought only Luke could sing this song but that night Ronnie gave us his version which was a magnificent tribute to Luke. brosnaboy

Even if you are only 16 , it does me good to know that even the you ones respect Ronnie Drew. I had the pleasure of meeting him several times. And I think he was A GENTLEman. If you only try to be like him you will be a beautifuel person.

RIP Ronnie. God bless ya
Oh man, I'd love to hear Luke sing this. It suits Ronnie well enough but Luke would make this absolutely beautiful.

Yeah I agree completely. But then again, that's what I think about pretty much any song I hear...

Of course, Ronnie is a legend and you would know I feel that way if you had watched my comments on my other vids. All I was saying is that I often think about how great a song would be, sung by the great Luke Kelly.
