Halo Theme on Violin

4/11/10 - My own solo violin rendition of the theme from Halo, as composed by Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori.

That's my roommate's dog Annie barking at 1:55. :)

How did you play 0:46 to 0:57? What finger on what string? Then I think you just shift up one position for every phrase. I'm trying to play this as well, but the rendition I did is terrible. Lol.

@Seirra259 You're exactly right; I'm shifting up one position each time, keeping my first and fourth finger spaced apart at exactly one octave and starting from first position then jumping back down to first at the end. It takes some getting used to if you're new to the technique. Just remember that you have to compensate for the tighter spacing between notes higher up the fingerboard; your fingers have to get ever-so-slightly closer together every time you shift up.

wow....i play viola but i have been playing for one year (almost) and my brother is just begggginnnngg for me to play this... Playing this in cello is nearly impossible. To play suite.1 is hard and goes sort of slow, look at this :l
