In collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese of Maine's Clergy Day Steering Committee, Bishop Steve Lane offers this reflection on Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.
This is the first in a weekly series throughout Lent addressing questions and topics proposed by Maine Episcopal Clergy. See more at http://bishopstephen.wordpress.com
Thank you, Bishop Steve, for helping us kick off Lent with a focus on "wholeness." That's very important to the Navajo. They have a word for it, "hozho." Your description of wholeness fits beautifully with that of "hozho." To the Navajo that means everything you describe, including "peace." It's like "shalom." They have a prayer, "to walk in beauty." May you, your family, the diocese, and all, "Walk in Beauty." Henry
