Israel Knesset member Yoel Hasson says Israel wants peace but is waiting for someone on the Palestinian side to assert themselves as a real peace broker.
Hasson, a guest on News Talk Online on Paltalk, says the Palestinians have yet to present a leader who is willing to take the difficult political step of signing an accord creating a Palestinian state alongside Israel.
In answer to critics of Israeli military responses to rocket attacks from the Gaza, Hasson argues that Israel, like any other nation, has the right to defend itself. And asked the audience to imagine what the U.S. response might be if there were similar attacks from Mexico onto San Diego.
On the question of Iran, Hasson says Tehran remains a potential nuclear threat, not just to Israel, but, really, to the west of the world. And called for continuing sanctions and an international consensus to place Iran's nuclear weapons aspirations in permanent check.
